Stolen

Carth Onasi is an officer in the Republic Navy. Clearly the Republic Navy hates your eyes.

This is Meirah, my PC from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. She's ganked the eye-searingly orange jacket that Carth, the pilot and optional love interest, tends to wear. I snagged one of my husband's coats while I was sketching this.

For all his faults, I really like Carth. I think it's because, with all of the occupational hazards implied in being a Jedi- spending all of your time dealing in heady abstractions and thorny ethical problems, having most of the world look to you for a leadership when bad things are happening, and centering your entire life around your relationship with an impersonal spiritual power- it's easy to see how someone as honest, straightforward, courageous (both physically and ethically) and loyal as he is would make the perfect non-Jedi friend or mate.

This was a quick doodle penned in a combination of Faber-Castel Pitt pens and Prismacolor fineliners, then colored in Prismacolor marker, while procrastinating on end-of-the-semester schoolwork in November 2011. I may revisit this composition when I like my skills with that media better.
